Breaking: ASNC Announces Choosing Wisely Challenge Finalists

• Debra Mahlum, CNMT, of Aurora Cardiovascular Services in Milwaukee, will present “Minimizing Radiation Exposure from Myocardial Perfusion Imaging” on behalf of her team, which also includes Maureen Van der Kooy, CNMT, and Steven Port, MD.  
• David E. Winchester MD, FASNC, of Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gaineville, FL, will present “A Simplified Approach to Stress-First Nuclear Myocardial Perfusion Imaging: Implementation of ASNC Choosing Wisely Recommendations.” Dr. Winchester will present for his team, including Randy Jeffrey MD, David C. Wymer MD, and Vicente Taasan MD.
• Sarah Cuddy, MB, BCh, BAO, of Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, will present “Advanced Protocol Planning in Nuclear Cardiology to Enhance Care Delivery” on behalf of her team, which also includes Yin Ge, MD, Ron Blankstein, MD, FASNC, Marcelo Di Carli, MD, and Sharmila Dorbala, MD, MPH, FASNC. 

The Choosing Wisely Challenge® is a unique feature of ASNC2017. The special session will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at 3:15 pm. It will bring the nuclear cardiology community together to discuss some of the field's most original ideas for helping clinicians and patients collaboratively choose care that is supported by evidence, not duplicative of other tests or procedures already received, free from harm and truly necessary.
