ASNC2018: 5 Reasons to Arrive by Noon on Thursday, Sept. 6

In celebration of ASNC's 25th anniversary, we're offering even more Annual Scientific Session for you to love! ASNC2018 will open at noon on Thursday (yes, Thursday!), Sept. 6, and will offer a full line-up of educational and networking opportunities. Here are just five—among many—reasons to join us at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis on Thursday.
  1. Noon  –  Tait Shanafelt, MD, chief wellness officer and director of the Stanford WellMD Center, will deliver a special keynote, Finding Meaning, Balance and Professional Fulfillment in the Practice of Medicine. Dr. Shanafelt is an international thought-leader and researcher on physician well-being and its implications for quality care. His research on physician burnout has been featured in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Internal Medicine and JAMA, and has been covered by many media outlets, including CNN, USA Today and The New York Times.   2. 1:15 p.m. –  Choose from two sessions: "What Is New in CAC Scoring in 2018?" a special joint session with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography; or "How to Optimize Your PET Lab" from ASNC's new Team-based Learning educational track.  
  3. 3:15 p.m. –  Tackle challenging cases along with expert presenters at “Ischemic Heart Disease: Complex Cases or join the discussion at “Incorporating Myocardial Blood Flow Quantification with PET/CT into Practice.
  4. 5 p.m. –  Kim Allan Williams, MD, MASNC, will present ASNC2018's Mario Verani Lecture on imaging in preventive cardiology. A visionary leader, Dr. Williams has served as president of ASNC, the American College of Cardiology and the Association of Black Cardiologists, and has spearheaded successful community-based screening programs in Detroit and Chicago.   5. 6 p.m. –  ASNC2018 Welcome Reception, where the nuclear cardiology community will come together for collegiality, conviviality and celebration.
