ASNC's Journal of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Heart Association's Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging have teamed up to co-publish a comprehensive best practice information statement highlighting the latest advances in cardiac SPECT imaging and detailing how to incorporate new technologies and techniques.
Focused on the application of the latest imaging protocols as well as available hardware and software options, Contemporary Cardiac SPECT Imaging—Innovations and Best Practices: An Information Statement from the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology provides recommendations on the best practice of cardiac SPECT imaging, outlining what nuclear cardiologists should be doing as the standard of care in 2018, explains Writing Committee Chair and ASNC Past President Brian G. Abbott, MD, MASNC.

“This document complements the 2018 SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Guidelines, compiling guidance and recommendations for optimal performance of SPECT nuclear cardiology procedures with a succinct overview of best practices in cardiac SPECT,” adds Dr. Abbott. “In other words, what's new and why it should be used.”
