'Take Action' with ASNC - Join Us in Asking Congress to Give Physicians Relief from the AUC Mandate
Unless Congress acts, the Medicare Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) Program for advanced diagnostic imaging will be implemented by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), first with a testing period in 2020 and then with full implementation in 2021.
The massive program is poised to burden almost every medical specialty with complex, cumbersome and costly requirements that are duplicative of CMS's existing Quality Payment Program.ASNC has launched a grassroots initiative to provide the nuclear cardiology community with tools for delivering this message to Congress. When you visit the Take Action campaign hub on ASNC.org, you'll find –
- Background on the AUC Mandate,
- ASNC's advocacy alert sign-up tool,
- Our easy-to-use database to looking up contact data for your Senators and Representatives, and
- A template letter for you to personalize and email to your elected officials.
ASNC strongly supports the use of AUC for advanced diagnostic imaging tests, but an overly prescriptive and complex program is not the answer for you or your patients. Let's all Take Action Today!
