FIT Program 2019: Not Just for Fellows-in-Training!
The 2019 Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT for Fellows-in-Training program on March 15, 2019 took place at the Marriott New Orleans Downtown Convention Center. Once again, this course proved to be a necessary one for all in the field, not just fellows. In fact, many in attendance were from countries outside of the U.S. and represented various professional levels in the nuclear cardiology field!
This year's sessions included the popular "Read With the Experts" presented by 2004 ASNC Past President Robert Hendel, MD, MASNC and Ahmed Aljizeeri, MD, FASNC, "Cardiac PET" presented by FIT Program Director Mouaz Al-Mallah, MD, FASNC and for the first time, an amyloidosis session, “Nuclear Cardiology in Sarcoidosis and Amyloidosis”, which was presented by Jamieson Bourque, MD, FASNC. Attendees had plenty opportunities to network at the ASNC Board of Directors reception and a joint ASNC/American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) off campus event.
“I thought the meeting went very well…we had two ASNC past presidents present the latest in nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT and update the fellows and trainees about the latest in patient centered imaging, stated Dr. Al-Mallah, who has led the faculty for this program for many years.

Attendees also had glowing remarks about the highly-regarded program. “Speakers were outstanding! Dr. Hendel is preaching to the choir.”- stated an attendee.
We look forward to making next year's program better than ever!
