NC Today 2019 Provided Attendees with the Latest Practical Solutions
NC Today 2019 was a great success! Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC and David Wolinsky, MD, MASNC developed an excellent program to address best practices in nuclear cardiology today, as well as to provide a look to the future. More than 100 physicians and imaging technologists, from as far away as Alaska, participated in 2.5 intensive days of more than 46 interactive sessions and case presentations led by 16 experts.
Topics included the latest advances in nuclear cardiology hardware and software, disease-state imaging recommendations, health policy, and the now famous, Practical Dilemmas.Attendees appreciated the opportunity to interact with the faculty in the intimate learning environment. Participants had the opportunity to ask their specific clinical questions, while being encouraged to implement new strategies to take their labs to the next level. When asked to provide one strategy learned at the meeting, attendees shared that going forward they will implement better use of SPECT, and use PET imaging more in problematic cases, as well as utilizing PYP scans for detection of cardiac amyloidosis. One attendee stated that post meeting they “will help spread the word on better practice techniques among colleagues at different facilities.” Another stated, “We will immediately implement amyloid imaging.” The impact on attendees to implement at least one learning objective from NC Today is sure to be realized.
