'Nuclear Cardiology Today' Goes Virtual; Meet the Program Co-chairs

ASNC's practice-focused Nuclear Cardiology Today will be back Thursday, April 29, through Sunday, May 2, with a series of virtual sessions designed to bring cardiology teams up to speed on the latest advances in SPECT and PET as well as provide guidance on running an efficient, productive lab amid current challenges. Nuclear Cardiology Today 2021 also has expanded its leadership team. ASNC Past President David Wolinsky, MD, MASNC, and President-elect Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC, are back after several years at the helm of the popular program. Joining Drs. Wolinsky and Calnon as NC Today co-chairs are Renee Bullock-Palmer, MD, FASNC, and Rupa M. Sanghani, MD, FASNC. 

Meet the Co-chairs 




Dr. Wolinsky is section head of nuclear cardiology and director of the cardiac amyloid clinic at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic, he founded the nuclear cardiology department at Albany Associates in Cardiology in New York. He directed the practice's nuclear cardiology department for 20 years and also served as its director of both heart failure and cardiac rehabilitation/wellness. He is a founding member of ASNC and was the Society's president in 2015. Dr. Wolinsky is currently a member of ASNC's Board of Directors and Cardiovascular PET Committee, and is chair of the Health Policy Committee. 



Dr. Calnon is director of cardiac imaging at the McConnell Heart Hospital at Riverside Methodist Hospital and director of nuclear imaging for OhioHealth Heart and Vascular Physicians. He has authored many scientific articles and several book chapters. He serves on the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology Editorial Board and on ASNC's Board of Directors. His term as ASNC president-elect began Jan. 1, 2021. 



Dr. Bullock-Palmer is director of noninvasive cardiac imaging and the Women's Heart Center at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey. She has participated in many clinical research projects and authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of ASNC's Board of Directors and chair of both the Social Media Task Force and the ASNC2021 Clinical Solutions Educational Track. READ HER RECENT BLOG. 




Dr. Sanghani is the director of nuclear cardiology at Rush University Medical Center. She also is an associate professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Medical College and the associate director of Rush University's Heart Center for Women. She led the effort to build Rush University Medical Center's Cardiac PET program -- at the time the only such program in the greater Chicago area -- and invited ASNC2019 attendees to tour the facility.
