ASNC Congratulates 2021 Young Investigator Awardees

Please join us in congratulating the winners of the 2021 Young Investigator Awards.
ASNC hosted this year's Young Investigator Award competitions during the Main Program of the 26th Annual Scientific Session and Exhibition. Each participating finalist received a $500 cash prize. The winners of Best Basic-Technical Abstract Award and the Best Clinical Science Abstract received an additional $500. Best Basic-Technical Abstract
Azmi Ahmad, PhD, of Yale University School of Medicine, received the Best Basic-Technical Abstract Award for his abstract titled “18F Sodium Fluoride PET Imaging for in vivo Evaluation of Calcification Dynamics in a Novel Murine Model of Calcific Aortic Valve Disease.”
Best Clinical Science Abstract
Mohammad AlShaheen, MD, of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, received the Best Clinical Science Abstract Award for his abstract titled “Potential Use of Stress Myocardial Blood Flow Measurement to Reduce Need for Rest Imaging with Stress First/Only Single-Photon Emission-Computerized Tomography Myocardial Perfusion Imaging.”
More than 50 original basic science and clinical research abstracts were presented at ASNC2021 and are now published in the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology ASNC2021 Abstracts Supplement.
