NRC News: Rb-82 Generator Rulemaking Poised to Start Next Month
At a public meeting held last week, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Council on the Medical Use of Isotopes (NRC ACMUI) announced plans to provide regulatory basis and a 120-day public comment period on Rb-82 Generator Rulemaking starting in June 2023.
According to the ACMUI, the rulemaking will address calibration and dosage measurement requirements. A proposed rule for Rb-82 Generator Rulemaking will be released in winter 2024 with finalization in winter 2026. ASNC will submit comments on the proposed rule and will attend any NRC public sessions on the topic. For updates, stay tuned to ASNC.
