ASNC Participates in VII Iberoamerican Conference of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging

In April, more than 250 physicians—many of them ASNC members—traveled to Havana, Cuba, to participate in the VII Iberoamerican Conference of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging. The attendees, who hailed from 17 countries, were welcomed by ASNC President Brian Abbott, MD, FASNC, who joined Conference Organizing Committee President Amalia Peix, MD, and International Atomic Energy Agency representative Maurizio Dondi, MD, in the opening ceremonies. Marcelo DiCarli, MD, presented the keynote address, “Nuclear Cardiology Facing Emergent Imaging Modalities.” 
Iberoamerican 2016Attendees from 17 countries traveled to Cuba for an update on their subspecialty and to contribute to the improvement of medical and interventional care of cardiac patients in Latin America and worldwide.   The Congress was organized in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and supported by ASNC and several other cardiology societies.


Iberoamerican The conference featured a wide variety of sessions on such topics as multimodality imaging for coronary artery disease, cost-effectiveness in imaging, Nuclear Cardiology and heart failure, new developments in SPECT and PET hardware and software, strategies for dose reduction in Nuclear Cardiology, quality assurance in cardiovascular imaging and prognostic value of functional parameters.
