Goals and Objectives
-
To discuss the role of myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) in patients with chest pain in the current multimodality imaging environment
-
To provide case-based learning on the appropriate use of MPI across the spectrum of chest pain patients
-
To work with you on finding an optimal pathway to risk-stratify, diagnose and treat chest pain patients
The Role of MPI in Chest Pain: A PatientFirst Approach
Faculty: Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC; Randall Thompson, MD, MASNC;
Timothy Bateman, MD, MASNC; Rob Beanlands, MD, MASNC; Wael Jaber, MD; Paul Cremer, MD; Marcelo Di Carli, MD, MASNC; and Mouaz Al-Mallah, MD, FASNC
Description: This webinar discusses the important role of functional imaging in patients with intermediate-to-high likelihood of CAD and no acute coronary syndrome presenting to the emergency department with chest pain. The case-based webinar will explore how to choose the appropriate testing strategy in older adults with high coronary calcium, patients with prior revascularization, patients with kidney disease, young diabetic patients and other clinical scenarios encountered in the emergency department. Timothy Bateman, MD, MASNC; Rob Beanlands, MD, MASNC; Wael Jaber, MD; Paul Cremer, MD; Marcelo Di Carli, MD, MASNC; and Mouaz Al-Mallah, MD, FASNC
Faculty: Marcelo Di Carli, MD, MASNC, and Mouaz Al-Mallah, MD, MSc, FASNC
Moderators: Timothy Bateman, MD, MASNC, Rob Beanlands, MD, MASNC, and
Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC
Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC
Description: This webinar demonstrates how two institutions, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Houston Methodist Hospital, use PET myocardial perfusion imaging with myocardial blood flow in the evaluation of patients with chest pain.
Faculty: Tiffany Dong, MD, Dennis Calnon, MD, MASNC, Leslie Cho, MD, Jacqueline Tamis-Holland, MD
Moderators: Wael A. Jaber, MD
Description: The webinar features three cases illustrating why diagnosing chest pain in women can be difficult and controversial. The cases are real, recent and not what you expect. Importantly, they demonstrate the complementary value of different testing modalities and how clinicians use all of the inputs available to “figure things out,” deliver PatientFirst care and have a meaningful impact on patients’ lives.

Description: This webinar demonstrates how experts tackle INOCA (ischemia with no obstructive coronary artery disease). Recent research suggests this complex clinical condition is the cause of more angina cases than previously recognized – particularly in women. Watch as Cedars-Sinai Medical Center cardiologists analyze three challenging cases, explaining their approach to each and offering a glimpse of new frontiers in cardiovascular diagnosis.

Description: This webinar illustrates how physicians should use MPI and CCTA as complementary modalities to answer different clinical questions. Dr. Blankstein outlines the potential indications for MPI after CCTA followed by four case presentations by advanced imaging fellows Rhanderson Cardoso, MD, and Laura Murphy, MD. The cases show how to put together all of the available clinical information to guide test selection that supports long-term care.
