Test Substitution Toolkit

ASNC has received reports of test substitution in recent weeks. This occurs when an RBM denies coverage for an ordered test and indicates that another test should be performed in its place.

Attached is a letter template to be sent to health plans and RBMs underlining the supremacy of the physician's clinical judgment in cases where two tests are equally appropriate -- to download and print the letter, click here.
