Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System

On October 31, 2014, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services released the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule for CY 2015. Payments made under OPPS will rise by 2.3 percent. This projection is based on the market basket increase of 2.9 percent minus a 0.5 percentage point for multi-factor productivity and a legally mandated 0.2 percent reduction as well as increased estimated total outlier payments.

On July 30, 2012, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) posted the 2012 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS) proposed rule. The final rule is expected in November 2012.
