Overview

The American Society of Nuclear Cardiology Technologist Leadership Development Program (TLDP) is a new program established to provide emerging technologist leaders, like you, with the experience and skill sets you need to become partners and pioneers in ASNC and nuclear cardiology. Program goals include the development of critical thinking and leadership skills, immersion in society governance and committees, relationship building with ASNC members, and opportunities to make meaningful contributions to ASNC programs and projects.

The TLDP will accomplish this by delivering leadership training and networking opportunities designed to increase your knowledge, instill a sense of belonging within the ASNC community, and help you grow in your career.

The three-year program is founded on three pillars:

• Mentorship
• Society Governance and Special Projects
• Leadership Skills Development

How it Works
You will be paired with a primary technologist mentor to collaboratively expand personal and professional development and a secondary physician mentor to guide you as potential partners and leaders in their nuclear cardiology practices.
Within the Society Governance and Special Projects sphere, you will have opportunities to serve on ASNC Committees and Task Forces and project invitations to acquire fundamental governance skills. Each project can be seen as a mini-mentorship, where engagement with the project leaders and other participants serve to acquire and hone knowledge and experience.
Leadership Skills Development occurs through a variety of experiences, including quarterly webinars, regular 1:1 conversations with the TLDP Program Director and staff, peer-to-peer networking opportunities and periodic invitations to ASNC’s Executive Council and Board of Directors functions.

Application Requirements

• Candidate must be a member of ASNC, and
• Be at least two years out of technologist training

Application Submission Requirements

Selection for participation in the program is extremely competitive. Slots are limited to two in the first year, in order to ensure that each participant has broad exposure to all aspects of the Society and that participation is meaningful and of value to both the individual and ASNC.
All applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for selection:

1. Completed Application Form
2. Letter of Recommendation from your program director, preceptor, or another mentor
3. Current Curriculum Vitae or Resume
4. Statement of Interest (maximum of 500 words)

Selection criteria include time committed to advanced training in nuclear cardiology or cardiac imaging, job responsibilities in nuclear cardiology/imaging, involvement in ASNC and other imaging societies and strength of the recommendation letters. The Selection Committee evaluates program applicants in areas such as their stated goals, experiences in research, publications, educational contributions, participation in Society initiatives, and their likelihood of success in the program. ASNC’s Community is robust and assuring a good fit between TLDP participants and the organization benefits both.
